Bienvenidos a Buenos Aires... "Welcome to the Good Air"

Buenos Aires reminds me a little of New York mixed with California. There are a lot of people and it is a big city but there are palm trees and it is warm here (its high 60`s low 70's now, its perfect! not too cold, not too warm). Before i came i had a few misconceptions, first, it is not that cheap. I thought the food would be really cheap here because that is what i had been told, but it is actually more similar to that of the US. People here do not have a unique dress style, they just wear random things and it is hard to pick out a commonality amongst what they wear, then again this may be due to the fact that we are in a big city and it is more versitile. No one here speaks English, seriously, no one... i thought that being in a big city there would be at least some people that speak english but it is actually uncommon to find someone that does. It is a good thing though because it forces me to practice my Spanish...or should i say my Spanglish? haha, oh man i need to learn quick!

The Food
The "comida" is "muy rica". We have Empanadas and Dulce de Leche like almost everyday. mmmmm. The country also has really yummy steaks and those are very cheap... like $13 for a big slab, although its the wrong country to come to when you want to eat less meat and more veggies ;)

The City
Everyone walks everywhere and it is a nice change to not have to worry about a car or buying gas every week. The parks are really pretty with a lot of greenery. The other day Jessica and I walked to Recoleta Cemetery and just relaxed and sketched some of the gravehouses. It was the most beautiful cemetery i have ever seen. My other two favorite places that we have been so far are Puerto Madero and Palermo Viejo. Puerto Madero is a port for ships and it is really cool to walk around, it reminded me of San Francisco. Palermo Viejo is a hip town with a lot more students and young people, it is full of cool boutiques, restaurants, and has a good nightlife. Pictures of all of this to come...
